I’m on the verge of my fourth decade. I love working in retail and spent four years and roughly a gajillion and a half dollars on a college education so I could know myself well enough to know that I love working in retail – and that’s okay.
I spend a lot of time drinking coffee, reading and writing. Or thinking about drinking coffee, reading and writing.
If you want to see me fired up ask me about Stalin, the Arab Spring, or civil rights.
There is so much potential for the direction that my life could take that I’m not sure where to go, but as long as my destination has a coffeeshop and an independent book store (added points if they’re combined, even more if there’s WiFi!), then I’ll be content.
Where I am in life can accurately be summed up with these lyrics by my favorite band (The Ryan Montbleau Band):
“But I still wanna be everything
Have you ever wanted to be everything
Sometimes the dreaming gets so overwhelming
So many places, so many places” ((Variety))

I totally get those lyrics. So many things I want to do, and I want to do all of them right NOW! Gah! :-)

I think that also speaks to the procrastination/shiny object syndrome. I don’t know about you, but when I’m surrounded by opportunities/options/choices I often freeze up. Afraid to make a move…
